A bit about me.
My name is Lisa Phelps, and I am an attorney and conflict management specialist who thrives on helping organizations, teams, and humans transform their costly, stressful, and time-consuming conflicts into opportunity, progress, and peace of mind.
A little more about my professional background.
For over 20 years, I have helped large corporations, small businesses, non-profits, educational organizations, families, and individuals navigate conflict and resolve disputes. I have an extensive legal background in labor and employment law, and experience advising clients on human resources, corporate, intellectual property, and real estate matters. I currently serve as a settlement officer for the Santa Barbara Superior Court and Resolve Law Los Angeles, and as a mediator for the Arts Arbitration and Mediation Services panel with California Lawyers for the Arts.
A little more about my education.
I love learning. I graduated from Vanderbilt Law School where I had the honor of attending as a John Wade Scholar and serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the Vanderbilt Law Review. I also hold a B.A. in History from UC Berkeley (where I graduated Phi Beta Kappa) and a Diplôme d'Études de la Langue Française Pratique from the Université de Montpellier III Paul Valéry in Montpellier, France. I recently received my LLM (Master in Laws) in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University’s Caruso School of Law.
A little more about my life.
Before law school, I taught American Business Methods, American Geopolitics, and Business English at Académie Mercure Ecole Supérieure de Commerce International in Montpellier, France. I also served as the Assistant Director of the Savannah OnStage music festival in Savannah, GA.
